Welcome to the North Wales Choral Festival, This choral event has gone through many transformations on its journey, evolving from the original Sealink festival many years ago.
Organised by Conwy County Borough Council, this choral competition has grown from strength to strength. The festival began as a one day competition back in 1988 but since then has grown into a three day celebration of choral music incorporating school workshops, competitions, concerts, community performances and more! You are guaranteed a weekend of musical talent and fun whether you are in the audience or a choir competing!
Traditionally held in November, the festival takes place in Venue Cymru, situated on the beautiful seaside resort of Llandudno. The North Wales Choral Festival is considered one of the largest choral competitions in Wales and is an event for any choral calendar!
Offering choirs the opportunity to compete for cash prizes in 5 different categories; Youth, Male Voice, Ladies, Mixed and Barbershop Style, the festival now runs workshops for schools and special evening concerts featuring popular acts from the singing scene.
There is also the opportunity for choirs to soak up the sights and receive a warm Welsh welcome, performing at other venues around the lovely Victorian seaside resort. The community performances are free to the public and offer choirs a social aspect to the festival as well as the choral competitions.
