Welcome to the North Wales Choral Festival, this choral event has gone through many transformations over the years, evolving from the original Sealink festival many years ago.
Organised by Conwy County Borough Council, this choral competition has grown over the years. The festival began as a one day competition back in 1988, as the festival grew it then extended into two days of competitions. Back in 2012 the festival then grew into a three day celebration of music incorporating school workshops, competitions, concerts, community performances and more! You are guaranteed a weekend of musical talent and fun whether you are in the audience or a choir competing!
Traditionally held in November, the festival has always taken place in Venue Cymru. A wonderful venue situated on Llandudno promenade with a stunning view of the seaside resort. The North Wales Choral Festival is considered one of the largest choral competitions in Wales and is an event for any choral calendar!
Choirs have the opportunity to compete for cash prizes in six different categories; Male, Youth, Ladies, Just For Fun, Barbershop style and Mixed. The festival also now runs workshops for schools and special evening concerts featuring popular acts from the singing scene.
If that wasn’t enough for choirs they also have the opportunity to soak up the sights of Llandudno and perform at other venues around the town, you’ll be sure to receive a warm Welsh welcome! The community performances are free to the public and offer choirs a social aspect to the festival as well as the choral competitions.
